CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The Vans Warped Tour arrived Wednesday and thousands of teens will be on hand for the music festival at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista.
At the event, there will be representatives from the “Truth” campaign, which aims to spread the word about the dangers of smoking specifically targeting the teens at the festival by using alternative methods like playing games and other activities.
Statistics shows in 2011, 45 percent of high school students admitted to trying a cigarette. Almost 20 percent of that number of teens admitted to smoking regularly. That’s why the “Truth” campaign is targeting teens, hoping they’ll keep them from smoking.
