SAN DIEGO - A Rancho Peñasquitos family was given permission to kill a bobcat after it ate 13 chickens and destroyed a fence.
The Mason family said the bobcat ate the chickens belonging to a neighbor then relaxed in the Mason's backyard.
The family was initially told by the California Department of Fish and Game that they could either squirt the bobcat with a hose or throw rocks at it.
The Department later gave the family permission to shoot the bobcat after a 10News report that aired last week. The family said its considering that route.
