If you plan to drive to Las Vegas or the high desert over the next month, you could encounter something worse than normal traffic.
Caltrans has started a major freeway project on Interstate 15 called the "Cajon Crawl."
Work on the Cajon Pass, between San Bernardino and Victorville, will reduce northbound I-15 from four lanes to two lanes. It will be reduced to one lane during off-peak hours.
The lane closures start Friday night at 10 p.m., and the project will continue every Friday night through Monday afternoon for the next five weekends -- except Labor Day weekend.
