SAN DIEGO - Crews made quick work of a brush fire in the Lomita area that at one point threatened structures and prompted some evacuations.
The fire was reported at about 6:45 p.m. in an open area near the 8100 block of Jamacha Road, according to dispatchers.
Because the fire burned close to some structures, nearby residents were asked evacuate.
After about 30 minutes, crews were able to extinguish the flames.
The blaze burned about three acres and did not damage any structures.
The cause is under investigation.
