SAN DIEGO - Firefighters on Thursday knocked down a brush fire near state Route 52 in University City.
The fire, which burned one acre, was reported at about 2:26 p.m. in a canyon near the westbound side of SR-52 at Genesee Avenue, about a mile west of Interstate 805. As of about 3:20 p.m., the fire was knocked down.
No structures were threatened. The cause is under investigation.
