Brush fire in Valley Center held at 5 acres

VALLEY CENTER, Calif. - Crews fought a small grass fire in Valley Center on Saturday, and held the blaze to five acres.

Cal Fire first reported a small, slow-spreading fire at 17200 Bear Valley Lane, near Lake Wohlford Road, had broken out just before noon Saturday and had burned two acres. The fire had the potential to burn up to 15 acres,
according to a tweet from Cal Fire.

At 12:15 p.m., Cal Fire officials said the fire's rate of spread had been stopped at five acres and that air tankers and other units were being released.
