SAN DIEGO - Crews battled a stubborn half-acre brush fire near Interstate 5 in Palm City early Wednesday.
The non-injury fire east of the freeway, near Palm Avenue and Hollister Street, broke out just before 6 a.m., according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher.
Flames didn't spread far but it took firefighters at least an hour to completely douse the fire because it was in an area that was hard to access, he said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
