CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Crews on Sunday knocked down a brush fire near Olympian High School in Chula Vista.
The fire, which was about an acre, started just after 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Magdalena Avenue.
As of about 7 p.m., the fire had been knocked down and firefighters were mopping up at the scene.
No structures were threatened.
The fire prompted the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of state Route 125 near Birch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. As of 7:12 p.m., the lanes were reopened to traffic, a CHP dispatcher said.
No injuries were immediately reported. There is no word on the cause of the fire.
