SAN DIEGO - Officials are calling four fires that broke out within a mile of each other in the Mission Valley area "suspicious."
At about 5 p.m., a fire was reported in a riverbed off westbound Interstate 8 near Morena Boulevard. Crews were able to douse that fire within 45 minutes.
However, a second fire broke out just before 6:30 p.m. near Napa Street and Morena Boulevard, fire officials said. That blaze was put out just after 7 p.m.
Two more brush fires broke out in an area near Taylor Street and eastbound Interstate 8 but both were extinguished a short time later.
Officials have ruled the fires "suspicious," 10News learned.
There have been at least a dozen fires in that same area in the past several months, officials told 10News.
No structure damage or injuries were reported.
