Brush fire burns 4 acres in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD - Firefighters from at least five San Diego jurisdictions were battling a brush fire that burned about four acres on the Oceanside-Carlsbad border Sunday morning, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was on eastbound state Route 78 east of El Camino Real on the border of Oceanside and Carlsbad, a dispatcher with the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority said. It was reported shortly before midnight.

Firefighters from Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Vista and Cal Fire Monte Vista were on the scene, she said.

No structures were threatened, the dispatcher said.
