The mess started around 10:00 a.m. when the 12 inch concrete pipe broke at the intersection of Pablo and Lomica.

The broken pipe shot water high into the air for more than six hours before the water department was able to turn off the main.

The San Diego County Water Authority reports that at least 100 homes were without water service while repairs were made.

According to 10News, at least one home was damaged by the gushing water.

Crews replaced the pipe, finished the repairs and left the scene around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to 10News.
