About 105 pounds of methamphetamine worth more than $2.1 million was found this week in two vehicles at separate border patrol checkpoints, U.S. Border Patrol officials said Friday.

A 37-year-old U.S. citizen was stopped at the checkpoint on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after agents became suspicious of his "nervous demeanor" and sent his 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer for a secondary inspection, according to U.S. Border Patrol Agent Scott Simon.A team searched the SUV and found nearly 48 pounds of liquid methamphetamine with an estimated street value of$952,400 in a five-gallon plastic container, Simon said.The driver, whose name was not immediately released, and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Border patrol agents seized the SUV.Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, a dog sniffed out methamphetamine in an unoccupied 2003 Suzuki XL7 parked near the San Ysidro port of entry, Simon said, adding that agents found 58 pounds of the drug worth more than $1.15 million in 28 packages hidden in the car's rear panels.
