SAN DIEGO - A suspicious package that was discovered in Carmel Mountain has been rendered harmless.
The incident was reported Tuesday afternoon at Aurora Behavioral Health, located at 11878 Avenue of Industry.
According to San Diego police, a former patient dropped off a box and ran away. The former patient had previously had threatened to bring a bomb to the facility, police said.
The box, which is the size of a shoebox, was placed in the driveway of the business.
Upon further investigation, the suspicious package turned out to be a shoe inside a shoe box.
Avenue of Industry was briefly closed to traffic while the investigation took place.
