SANTEE, Calif. - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Bomb/Arson squad on Wednesday was called to investigate a suspicious device in Santee after reports of a loud explosion.
A woman called the sheriff's department saying she thought a cherry bomb went off in front of her home in the 9800 block of Gandy Avenue. The bomb/arson squad was called to the scene at about 10:15 p.m.
Residents told 10News the device – which appears to have wires coming out of it – went off in a gutter.
No evacuations in the neighborhood have been ordered.
