SAN DIEGO - A body found along the ocean shoreline in Mission Beach last weekend was identified Tuesday as that of an Arizona woman who went missing last month during a visit to San Diego.

The discovery of the body of 30-year-old Amanda Cruse off the 3900 block of Ocean Front Walk was reported late Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The county Medical Examiner's Office used dental comparisons to identify the remains as those of Cruse, who went missing Feb. 19, Lt. Mike Holden said.

About 5 that morning, Cruse visited the Sunset Cliffs area of Ocean Beach. Investigators believe that she may have gone to the scenic spot to take sunrise photos.

Her friends and relatives never heard from her again, and her family reported her missing on Feb. 21.

How Cruse died remains under investigation by the county agency. Police do not consider her death suspicious, the lieutenant said.
