Crews are cleaning up Thursday after a big rig struck a fire hydrant in La Jolla.
The incident was reported shortly after 9 a.m. in the 5700 block of La Jolla Boulevard at Camino De La Costa.
The impact badly damaged the hydrant and caused water to shoot up some 50 feet in the air. Footage from Sky 10 showed water making its way towards an apartment building.
By 9:30 a.m., crews were able to shut down the water.
There were no injuries reported.
