EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - An East County family is on a mission to identify a mystery truck that veered into their parked truck, a baby boy in the back seat.

The driver who hit them kept right on driving.

Along Quail Canyon Road about 10:30 Saturday night, 9-month-old Cody was sleeping in the back of a truck. His parents, Jeremy and Kim Runyen, were in the front, getting ready to head home from a pool party at a friend's home.

Kim says she backed up while the truck was still in the driveway and told her husband a white truck was really flying down the road.

"That's when I heard the crash of loud metal, and at the time, my face was impacting the window because it was up," said Jeremy Runyen.

"I turned and saw him hightailing it out of here. He didn't stop for one moment," said Kim Runyen.

Witnesses say the truck nearly hit another family getting into their car.

The white truck left behind a trail of parts, including the passenger side mirror and headlight.

Jeremy suffered sprains in his neck and arm, along with a concussion. So far, it appears Cody escaped without any injuries.

Neighbors have been complaining about a similar white truck driving recklessly - daily.

The truck that left the scene is believed to be an older model, white Ford F-150. If you have information, call the CHP.
