Authorities seek public's help identifying man who robbed Oceanside bank

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - The FBI and the Oceanside Police Department worked together Saturday to try to identify a man who robbed an Oceanside bank.

The suspect entered the Chase bank on the 3700 block of Mission Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. Friday and approached a teller with a demand note and a brown plastic bag, FBI officials said.

The teller put money in the bag and gave it back to the suspect, but the thief looked in the bag and demanded more money, FBI officials said. The teller then gave the man more money. After receiving the money, the man left the bank.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 40 and 50 years old, about 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a tan ski cap, olive-green jacket, black shirt with a large logo on the chest and dark pants.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the FBI at (858) 565-1255 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
