Authorities search for gunman who robbed ampm in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Chula Vista police and the California Highway Patrol are looking for a gunman who held up an ampm convenience store Monday evening.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. in the 800 block of Palomar Street, just off Interstate 5.

The man showed a gun to the female clerk, who told 10News he had a baseball cap pulled down low and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt to hide his identity.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance video to see if there might be any connection to earlier, similar robberies.

The robber escaped in a dark-colored BMW. No one was injured.
