RAMONA - Authorities Tuesday sought the public's help in locating a felony warrant suspect last seen in Ramona Monday night.
Christopher Doneski is named in a felony warrant and is wanted on suspicion of auto theft, possession of stolen property, evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Hank Turner.
About 7 p.m. Monday, a patrol deputy recognized Doneski as he was driving in the 1800 block of Ramona Street, he said in a statement.
The deputy attempted to pull Doneski over but he refused and continued driving slowly to the 1500 block of Royal Vista Drive, where he pulled into a residential driveway and bailed on foot into the backyard of the home, Turner said, noting that the car Doneski was driving turned out to be stolen.
Inside the car, deputies allegedly found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of an unknown drug.
A police helicopter crew and two sheriff's canine units assisted in a search for Doneski but he got away, Turner said, noting anyone who knows of Doneski's whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
