SAN DIEGO - A live grenade found under a home in Barrio Logan on Monday has been taken away for disposal.
The incident was reported just before 5 p.m. Monday at a home near 31st Street and Boston Avenue. Officers were called to the scene after a man doing some plumbing work underneath the house found what he thought might be a grenade.
Members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's bomb squad determined the device discovered was a live grenade and took it away to dispose of it.
It is unclear how the grenade ended up underneath the home.
No evacuations were issued.
