Courier stunned by stun gun; 2 men sought

SAN DIEGO - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying two men suspected of robbing an armored vehicle courier at Fashion Valley Mall last week.

On May 2, at about 3 p.m., two men used a stun gun to rob a Dunbar armored vehicle courier in the 7000 block of Friars Road, according to San Diego police and the FBI.

Authorities said the courier was carrying a money bag to the vehicle when he was attacked from behind by the two men. One of the men forced the courier to the ground, but when the courier tried to get up, he was stunned by a stun gun on his face. The other suspected robber picked up the money bag and both men fled into a nearby parking structure.

The men got into a gray, four-door Toyota Tundra pickup truck and left the area.

According to authorities, one of the suspected thieves was described as a Hispanic male, wearing a black baseball cap, gray sweater and dark pants. The other suspected thief was described as a Hispanic male, wearing a dark heavy jacket, blue shirt and dark pants.

The injuries to the courier were not considered serious.

Details on the contents of the bag were not immediately disclosed.
