VISTA, Calif. - Sheriff's deputies are looking Tuesday for an armed man who they say attempted to carjack another person  in Vista.

The carjacking was reported at 9:20 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of North Citrus Avenue.

The victim told investigators that a gunman walked up to his car, grabbed him by the neck through his car window and demanded money and his car.

The victim was able to get away and reported the incident to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 200 lbs with short hair and was last seen wearing dark shirt and shorts.
