LA MESA, Calif. - Two San Diego men suspected of attempted burglary were in custody Wednesday following a brief foot pursuit that ended with their arrests in La Mesa, police said.
Kevin McCarthy, 34, and Christopher Buck, 30, were each arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and possession of stolen property early Tuesday evening in the area of the La Mesa Indoor Soccer Park at 9586 Murray Drive, according to the La Mesa Police Department.
McCarthy also was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, police said in a statement.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the soccer park to investigate two men seen attempting to break into a vehicle. Once there, officers saw McCarthy and Buck fleeing on foot and gave chase, police said.
McCarthy and Buck were arrested in the area a short time later.
