A 24-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in connection with a stabbing in the parking lot of a Grantville restaurant that left one man dead and another injured, a San Diego police official said.

Jim Duc Nguyen was identified by police as a suspect in both assaults which occurred during a large fight in the parking lot of a restaurant at 10450 Friars Road about 12:25 a.m. Saturday where a birthday party was taking place, according to San Diego police Lt. Ernie Herbert.The fight started with an argument outside the restaurant, but it was unclear what the argument was about, Herbert said.Two of the men involved sustained stab wounds and were taken to a hospital, Herbert said. One was treated for his injury and was expected to survive. Christopher Manzon, 25, died from his injuries, Herbert said.The surviving victim's name was not immediately released.Nguyen was arrested at a relative's Del Cerro home early Sunday, Herbert said.
