Alleged Gang Members Beat Man, Steal Car

Police Make No Arrest In Carjacking Case

A group of men wielding knives allegedly followed a man back to his Cholla Creek home and stole his car early Tuesday morning, San Diego police said.

Three men in a GMC Yukon flashed gang signs at the victim as they drove next to his white Neon around 3:25 a.m., Sgt. Diane Wendell said.

The men followed the victim to his home near the intersection of 54th Street and University Avenue, where they pulled knives and punched him, Wendell said.

After beating the victim, the men took his car and fled, Wendell said.

Police later spotted the white Neon and tried to stop the driver, Wendell said. The car stopped and all three men got away from the officers, she said.

No arrests were made and the carjackers remained at large, Wendell said.
