SAN DIEGO -- A group of activists is putting pressure on the City of San Diego to kick the Boy Scouts out of Balboa Park.
The group held a rally Sunday to focus on the issue. They say that the Boy Scouts exclude people based on religion and sexual preference. They want the city to cancel a lease it has with the Scouts to use land in the park.
The lease will likely be up for renewal sometime this fall.
Josh Rapp claims to be a former Eagle Scout, and says the city should drop the lease.
"The city shouldn't renew their lease. They could give land to another organization that could do so much more for our youth," he said.
Sunday's demonstration was part of a nationwide "Scouting For All" effort.
