San Diego Scientists Discover Wrinkle Cure
Product Stimulates Skin's Natural Healing Processes
SAN DIEGO -- Scientists from San Diego-based Advanced Tissue Science have teamed up with a local dermatologist and they say they have created a new treatment for wrinkles -- a cream called TNS Recovery Complex.
They claim the product works by stimulating the skin's own natural healing processes.
According to Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick of Dermatology Associates, wound-healing proteins called growth factors stimulate the natural processes that result in new collagen formation, new elastic tissue, new healthy blood vessels and overall healing of sun damaged skin.
Fitzpatrick told 10News that the cream's key ingredient -- NouriCel-MD -- is made from by-products of bio-engineered human tissue used for burn patients. He says that it will make the surface smoother, make wrinkle lines appear less deep.
According to 10News, 60 percent of patients felt their wrinkles were less visible and 90 percent felt their texture was improved.
Peter Vanderhaak, 52, took part in a study using the new product and is a true believer.
"It definitely gives me a tighter feel to my skin and a smoother feel," Vanderhaak said.
TNS Recovery Complex goes on sale Thursday, but the fountain of youth doesn't come cheap.
A one-month supply will cost you $120, 10News reported.
It's only being sold by Dermatology Associates. For more information, call (800) 321-2991 or visit the Dermatology Associates Web site.
