LAKESIDE, Calif. -- The San Diego County Department of Animal Services euthanized a pair of mastiffs after one bit a 13-year-old boy at Lindo Lake Park, 10News reported. The teen was taken to a hospital following Sunday's attack, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Lauren Joniaux, a regional director with the county Department of Animal Services, said a male mastiff bit the boy on the buttocks, arm and back around 2 p.m. The same dog then bit a Lakeside man on the ankle. That wound was considered minor, Joniaux told the Union-Tribune. Sheriff's deputies responded and shot the dogs with "bean bag rounds" to subdue them. Animal services also responded and later euthanized the dogs. Animal services cited the Lakeside owner Feb. 28 for not having licenses for his dogs. The owner also was warned to keep the dogs confined after receiving a complaint they had jumped over a fence, ended up in an apartment complex fence and were acting aggressively toward a woman, according to the Union-Tribune.
