A Crawford High School student recently saved a neighbor's life with CPR. Now, his whole school is getting a chance to get certified.

Champs is a small school within Crawford High School.

It's devoted to preparing students for careers in the medical, dental and biotech industries. And Friday, they got hands-on training to become certified in CPR.

"We're hoping to be able to give our students the courage to step up and not be someone who's going to stand and watch but actively take part and save a life," said Champs employee Latrice Cowell.

All juniors and seniors participated in Friday's training.

Those who passed recieved their heartsaver card.

The freshman and sophomore students will be trained at a later date.
