SAN DIEGO -- A Fallbrook boy with a life threatening skin disease got his holiday wish answered. It's not everyday that a world famous drummer in a rock-and-roll band performs live in your living room. Then again, the audience Monday afternoon in Fallbrook is worthy of a command performance."Just hearing about him is inspiring and I'm in a position to do something and I'm happy to do it," said Counting Crows drummer Jim Bogios. The drummer from the Grammy and Oscar nominated band was an upbeat and on beat surprise when 14-year-old Marky "Bean" Delmege walked in from school. When Bogious found out that Delmege, a fellow drummer, is suffering from a painful and life threatening skin disease, he arranged to get him a top of the line drum set worth more than $4,000.For a short time Delmege was overwhelmed by the drums and the drummer."I'm still getting over the fact that Jim Bogios is in my living room," said Delmege. The fear eventually ended and Delmege played on his new drum set."He could have sent it and said, 'best wishes', but he came so he could see my son," said Amy Delmege, the teen's mother."It seems like every time that you begin to lose hope, someone comes along and you have this renewed optimism," said Mark Delmege, the teen's father.Bogios also provided Delmege with a drum lesson to help him toward his goal of becoming a professional drummer.
