Car Repair Shops Honored For Customer Service

Twenty-one Southern California vehicle repair shops, including four in the San Diego area, earned the Auto Club's Quality Service Award for customer satisfaction and service quality, 10News reported.

The honorees were selected from about 600 Approved Auto Repair facilities, which are independent businesses regularly inspected by the Automobile Club of Southern California.

To receive an award, a repair shop has to meet "extremely stringent" Auto Club standards for a consecutive two-year period:

no more than one complaint from an Auto Club member
a minimum 99 percent customer satisfaction rating during two consecutive surveys
no facility deficiencies during either of the Auto Club's detailed annual shop inspections or bimonthly shop reviews

About one-third of the Quality Award winners -- seven -- are located in Orange County, and four shops are in the San Diego area.

Anaheim boasts two Quality Award facilities, and one is located in San Clemente. The others are spread across many Southern California communities, including one in San Luis Obispo and two in Glendale.

"Automobiles have become very technologically sophisticated and challenging to repair and maintain," said Richard Kretsch of the Auto Club's approved auto repair program.

"These shops are the creme de la creme and exceeded our program's strict requirements," he said. "The recipients demonstrate that they possess advanced skill and knowledge and understand how to provide top value and customer service to motorists."

Several facilities have received Quality Awards for numerous years. Good Guys Automotive in Yorba Linda and Seaside Buick in San Diego are five-time recipients.
