SAN DIEGO -- From dressy jeans to working in the garden jeans, there's denim for every occasion. But how hard is it to find that perfect pair? A new machine is offering some high-tech help."You know, finding the one that makes your butt look good and your legs look long -- definitely a challenge," jean wearer Sara Gillespie said.
But shoppers on the quest for the right jeans now have Intellifit -- a body measurement booth. And America's original denim brand, Levi's, is putting the machine to use in its stores.Using radio waves, the machine takes 200 measurements. It finds the moisture in your skin and calculates the fit.Shopper Kate Adams decided to put the machine to the test."I think when you have curves it's hard because things look great on the mannequin, and then you try them on and they don't look the same, obviously," Adams said.Adams finds five different jeans she might like, instead of the 24 styles Levi's offers. Most people don't have the time or desire to try on several pairs of jeans, but this machine guarantees to save you time in the dressing room. Ten seconds later, it gives you the exact size and style that's best for you, 10News reported."This matching actually allows people to step out of their comfort zone so they will try on things they normally would not have tried on," Kathryn Maulhardt, with Levi's, said."It was easy. It told you exactly the size that you were, and you didn't believe it at first, so you went and tried them on, and it was what it told you. I guess it knows what it does," jean wearer Timothy Gillespie said."The machine came pretty close. For my style -- they're a little low in the back," Adams said. The Levi's Fit Experience is on a 12-city tour. The machine will be at Horton Plaza Through Thursday and then it makes its way to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
