SAN DIEGO - A fourth man was arraigned Thursday in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old high school student.
According to authorities, the girl said she was lured to Rolling Hills Park in Rancho Penasquitos late at night on January 4. She claimed she was given a large quantity of alcohol, raped repeatedly and beaten.
Justin Heinz was the last of four men to be arraigned. He is accused of two felony counts.
His co-defendants, formally charged on Monday, face variations of those sexual assault charges. Dakota Savage, his brother Joshua and Brian Johnson could all go to prison for years if convicted.
All are 19 years old, except Dakota Savage, who is 21.
San Diego Deputy District Attorney Trisha Amador told 10News, "Dakota Savage's maximum exposure in this case is eight years, four months in state prison. Joshua Savage's maximum exposure is 10 years in state prison and both Brian Johnson and Justin Heinz's maximum exposure is eight years in state prison."
A friend of the alleged victim's family told 10News that the accused men are acquaintances of her older brother. The friend also said the girl was traumatized to the point that she left school.
It was just last week that arrests were made, and the district attorney has been careful with specific information about the assault and resulting charges.
Amador added, "At this time, the charges only reflect underage sexual assault as well as intoxication. There are no charges currently listed which involve force or great bodily injury."
10News learned there are no illegal drug allegations in the case.
Bail amounts ranged from $75,000 to $150,000, depending on who is accused of what, authorities said.
Heinz and Johnson are free on bail, but the Savage brothers remain in jail.
All four men will soon appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing. All four have been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
