Many Die Due To Heat-Related Causes

The final death toll that year was 383.The Union-Tribune reported that 119 of those who have died this year succumbed to heat-related causes, as smugglers took them through hot and desolate desert areas to avoid detection. The Border Patrol also reported 2,092 rescues so far this year, compared to 1,347 at this time last year.
