San Diego Fugitive Captured In Milwaukee
'America's Most Wanted' Aids In Arrest
In a cloud of tear gas, FBI agents in Milwaukee Tuesday arrested a San Diego County man wanted in connection to the kidnapping of a Vista woman, 10News reports.
Once again the TV show "America's Most Wanted" is able to take some credit for a fugitive's capture. Ortiz was featured on the show's February 17th episode.
The standoff between 25-year old Robert "Bones" Arthur Ortiz (pictured, right) and the FBI lasted about three and a half hours. Ortiz had been holed up in the home of two friends on Milwaukee's north side.
Police tried unsuccessfully to negotiate with Ortiz, turning to tear gas grenades before storming into house.
When officers searched the residence, they found nothing until they looked in an attic crawl space where Ortiz was hiding, Milwaukee Police Chief Arthur Jones said.
Ortiz was among the group of four people that kidnapped the Bank of America's Vista, California branch manager, according to officials from the FBI.

Christopher and Lisa Butler and Christopher Huggins were arrested shortly after the kidnapping took place.
The three later plead not guilty to charges of robbery and kidnapping.
Authorities say that Ortiz and two accomplices broke into a bank manager's home in Vista, brandishing spears and guns. They allegedly tied up the manager and her 7-year-old daughter and later captured the manager's roommate when she got home.
The next morning the gang strapped what appeared to be dynamite to their captives' backs and told the manager to steal money from her bank.
The manager loaded $360,000 into a duffel bag, and the suspects fled with the money.
The captives were not injured.
Police were later able to recover $100,000 of the stolen money.
Ortiz is being held in a Milwaukee jail until he can be extradited back to California.
