QUEBEC CITY, Canada -- Talk about being on thin ice.
Friday night was a night Caroline Marcil of Montreal certainly wants to forget.
The singer was scheduled to perform the American and Canadian national anthems prior to an exhibition hockey game between Canada and the U.S. in Quebec City. But she was unable to complete the task. She began with the Star Spangled Banner and for reasons unknown, she seemingly forgot the words and then ran off the ice toward the locker room.As the crowd began to boo she quickly came back for an apparent second attempt but then fell hard on the ice. They eventually began the game without the singing of either anthem.
Marcil appeared on ABC over the weekend to sing the National Anthem -- and made no mistakes. She said the pressure before the game got to her. Then, the crowd started booing and she said her mind went "completely blank."By the way, the U.S. won 5-to-4.
