4.2 earthquake in Baja rattles San Diego County

CAMPO, Calif. - The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.2 earthquake shook Baja California, Mexico, at 4:18 p.m. on Christmas Day. The quake was centered approximately 17 miles southeast of Campo, where residents reported shaking. The temblor was also reported by residents as far away as Tierrasanta, Santee, Chula Vista and Ramona. According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred 13 kilometers below the surface.
