Man Run Over While Sleeping In Parking Lot

SAN DIEGO -- A man sleeping in the parking lot of a downtown fast food restaurant early Saturday suffered 10 broken ribs and other serious injuries when a vehicle drove over him, 10News reported.The 36-year-old man was found shortly before 6 a.m., but it was unknown when the accident occurred in the parking lot of the McDonald's on B Street, near San Diego City College, Sgt. Tom Carmody said.Police believe the man had been sleeping in the grass, but moved into a parking space when a sprinkler system turned on.Sometime after that, a vehicle drove over the victim's chest and abdomen, Carmody said.There was no description for the vehicle.The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital for the treatment of rib injuries, a broken collarbone and a possible fractured pelvis.
