Pilot's Widow Retrieves Ring Worn When Plane Crashed

Lamphere Flew To San Diego To Get Ring

POSTED: 5:55 pm PST January 4, 2005

An Arizona woman whose husband died in an airplane crash has the ring he wore the night he died, 10News reported.

John Lamphere was a crew member of the flight that crashed enroute to Albuquerque in late November. The flight took off from Brown Field.

A Border Patrol agent found the ring 300 feet from where the medical flight crashed.

Tammy Lamphere said she prayed her late husband's ring would be found.

"I think God works in mysterious ways and this is his way of letting me know its going to be OK," Lamphere said.

The ring was inscribed with a Spanish phrase, "I will love you always."

Tammy Lamphere flew to San Diego to retrieve it.
