Police are trying to track down up to eight people who robbed passengers who were getting off a San Diego party bus in Murphy Canyon.

The entire group had been partying on the bus together before being dropped off at a parking lot on Santo Road and Aero Drive just after 2 a.m.
It is unclear how many of the thieves were armed, but police said four people were robbed during a violent confrontation. A 17-year-old male was hit in the face with a gun,
Between four and eight suspects, One used a gun, the rest used their fists to rob four people of jewelry, said San Diego Police Acting Sergeant Dan Mclaughlin.
Dozens of police officers could be seen taking notes and gathering evidence in the 10300 block of Bordelon Street nearby, it is unclear why the victims ended up on that street.
Police said the party was arranged on Facebook, but it's unclear if the victims knew the robbers or if they met on the bus. Its also unclear if the victims were high school or college students.
The thieves took off on foot. Police did not have the name of the party bus company.
