SANTEE, Calif. -- Sheriff's deputies are trying to figure out how a Santee woman died Friday morning, 10News reported.
Investigators said a man came home at about 4 a.m. and found his wife dead on the floor inside their home with the front door open.
The couple lives in a gated community in the 9200 block of Magnolia Avenue. The New Frontier subdivision is a retirement community with about 365 homes.People who live there said they woke up to the sounds of police cars. Residents said that they have never seen anything like this before in the quiet Santee community."Murder -- it's terrible, but I guess it could happen any place," resident Murray Dickerman said.The name of the 58-year-old murder victim has not been released.It was unclear how the woman died.Homicide detectives were investigating.
