SAN DIEGO -- Acting on a tip, authorities Thursday arrested a young woman who allegedly hurled boiling oil at her teenage sister, sending her to a hospital for treatment of burns over much of her body, 10News reported. Amber Jackson, 20, was arrested at the Frontier Motel, 149 West Calle Primera in San Ysidro, just before 1 a.m., Sgt. Rich Nemetz said. Police received a tip that Jackson would be there, Nemetz said. Jackson was arrested without incident on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and was taken to Las Colinas Detention Facility, he said. Jackson allegedly attacked her 15-year-old sister at the girl's home in the 3800 block of 50th Street in Chollas Creek shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Rodney Vandiver said. Jackson allegedly knocked on her sister's bedroom door, holding the hot cooking oil in a cup, and said, "So you think you're pretty? It won't last," Vandiver said. She then allegedly threw the liquid at the girl and fled. An ambulance crew took the victim to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for treatment of burns to her neck, chest, abdomen and hip.
