Man With Gun Robs North Park-Area Market
Robbery Occurred At Chris's Market On Myrtle Avenue

SAN DIEGO -- A man armed with a handgun robbed a North Park market of cash and beer on Saturday and then took off down a nearby alley, San Diego police said.
The robber entered Chris's Market at 3402 Myrtle Ave. about 12:15 p.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.He grabbed three beers from a cooler and approached the cashier, then displayed a handgun and demanded cash, Cali said.The cashier handed over an undisclosed amount and the robber left the store with the cash and the brews, Cali said.He was last seen headed north in an east alley of the 3400 block of Boundary Street, Cali said.The robber was described as a Hispanic man in his 30s who was between 5 feet 6 inches tall and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He wore a black hat with the letters "SD" in white, a blue shirt with a Chargers bolt logo, baggy jeans and black sunglasses.
