A Marine whose body was found Thursday in La Jolla was publicly identified Saturday as 20-year-old Cpl. Cody B. Adler of Los Angeles.

U.S. Marine Corps officials have not released his cause of death, and haven’t said where his body was found.

Adler was a small arms technician assigned to the Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, Third Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, according to Sgt. Sean McGinty.

He entered the Marines Nov. 19, 2009, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, McGinty said.
