SAN DIEGO -- The Las Vegas-area pastor charged with sexually molesting girls in his congregation will be extradited to Nevada in the next few weeks.
Otis Holland, who also goes by the name Otis Henderson, appeared in a San Diego courtroom for an extradition hearing Friday morning.Holland showed no emotion during the five-minute hearing. He waived his right to fight extradition and quickly signed the necessary paperwork to release him to authorities in his home state. He's facing at least 11 counts of sexual assault with a victim under 16. According to police in Henderson, Holland targeted troubled teens at the congregation and then offered to counsel them. Investigators said he soundproofed a room in his home and videotaped his victims.Members of his congregation helped put up the $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest."He's facing substantial charges in Nevada for assaulting minors under the age of 14 and also dissuading witnesses," said Deputy District Attorney Sylvia Tenorio.10News spoke to the uncle of one of the alleged victims over the phone Thursday morning. He declined to give his name to help protect the identity of his 13-year-old niece."I think he's the biggest creep on the planet. I hope that every single day of his life when he's sitting in that jail rotting for the 350-some-odd-years worth of counts that he gets given to him ... [that he thinks about] what he did to those poor little children every day," said the uncle.According to the relative, Holland used religion to manipulate his victims."For these young children he was their passage to God. He used the church to take advantage of these young children and make them think they would go to Hell if they didn't partake in his activities," the uncle said.He also told 10News Holland abused some of his victims at his luxury home in a so-called "torture room.""It was a soundproofed room that had all sorts of things that you would use to terrorize these young girls. There were video cameras in there, all sorts of horrible things," according to the relative.10News captured exclusive video as Holland was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals just before midnight Wednesday. Holland was featured on America's Most Wanted last week. A tip led Mexican state police to a church in downtown Tijuana where he had been living. He'd been on the run for nearly a year.Holland will be sent back to Nevada by February 16th.
