Motorcyclist Injured In Downtown-Area Crash
Crash Occurred Near Civic Center Plaza At Fourth Avenue, Broadway

SAN DIEGO -- A 21-year-old motorcyclist was recovering on Saturday from injuries suffered when he was struck by a pickup truck near the Civic Center Plaza in downtown San Diego, a police sergeant said.
The crash at Fourth Avenue and Broadway was reported at 8:40 a.m. Friday, said SDPD Sgt. Ray Battrick.The motorcyclist was heading southbound on 4th Avenue when an eastbound 1979 Chevy pickup driven by a 23-year-old man hit him, Battrick said.The motorcyclist suffered a broken hip and other leg injuries, he said.The crash remains under investigation, Battrick said.It was unclear if the driver was cited.
