Encinitas, Calif. - Two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old friend were hospitalized today with injuries they suffered in an explosion while playing with fireworks in Encinitas, authorities said.
The three boys were hurt in the 700 block of Bonita Drive about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Todd Norton.
All three were flown to local hospitals to be treated for face, arm and leg injuries, the sergeant said in a statement.
