SAN DIEGO - Two vehicles crashed and rolled on Interstate 805 on Sunday, and at least one person was critically injured, firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers said.

The crash involved a Subaru Forester and a tan Chevy Suburban that collided at about 1:25 p.m. on the southbound I-805 freeway, between state Route 15 and Home Avenue, the CHP reported.

The Suburban's driver was reportedly driving recklessly before the crash, according to the CHP.

Both vehicles overturned and came to rest in the center divider, the CHP reported. Traffic on SR-15 and I-805 started to back up at about 1:30 p.m.

Three people were taken to hospitals, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said. One of them had major injuries.

Two tow trucks were called to remove the wrecked vehicles from the road, the CHP said.
