Fizz Girl, a Munchkin cat from California, has been declared the world's shortest living cat by Guinness World Records.

Owned by Tiffani Kjeldergaard of San Diego, the diminutive feline measures just 6 inches tall and is often mistaken for a kitten when, in fact, she is 3 years old. Munchkin cats are a breed born with unusually short legs.

Kieldergaard, who breeds Munchkin cats, said Fizz Girl doesn't let her small stature bring her down.

"Fizz Girl knows that she's short, but she has no problems climbing and getting to the highest places in the house," she told Guinness.

Kieldergaard went on to describe Fizz Girl as a "princess," but also a very lovable and loyal companion.

The previous record holder, Itse Bitse, measured just 3.75 inches high but then went missing.
